Nice episode and great comment by Justin at the end – the more confidence you have in a buck’s location and your overall kill spot – the more willing you are to walk that extra mile on your access to protect your hunt and future hunts. Why spend all that time zeroing in on a buck just to blow it on your access.
Would they go about hunting these systems the same way during the rut? Or is this more of an early season strategy when they’re more confident in knowing the bucks bedding location?
Hey, Adam! I know that for Justin, he’s always looking for fresh sign. The guy covers more ground than anyone I know. But, he’ll also say that everything is situational. So, during the rut he’s more likely to sit a funnel (like a saddle in the hills), but there’s also going to be a very good reason why. He’s definitely not a “sit and hope” kind of guy, no matter what time of season.

This is some really good stuff y’all.
Thanks, Dan! So glad you like it 🙂
Heck yeah another great episode. Being from West Virginia and now moving to eastern Ohio, this series will be helpful.
That’s great! Good luck and keep us updated.
